Below is a complete list of the doctors currently at the
Fountain Medical Centre.
Dr. Stephen Ledger
MB ChB DRCOG MRCGP Joined in 1984.Works
full time as GP but is also a trainer for
future family doctors in the Practice. Clinical
interests include skin disease, mental health
and drug addiction therapy. Outside of medicine
has a keen interest in sport especially football,
golf and amateur boxing. He is married with
two daughters.
Dr. Danny Hurwitz MB ChB MRCP MRCGP Joined in 1987. He is our managing partner
with responsibility for overseeing partnership,
financial and employment issues. His interests
include Gastroenterology, minor surgery,
cardiovascular disease and the development
of the role of nurses in primary health care.
He is married with three children.
Dr. Karen Logan MB ChB DCH MRCGP Joined in 1990. She has an ongoing involvement
with the management of the practice particularly
with respect to personnel. Her clinical interests
lie in Paediatrics and Gynaecology, and is
also in charge of the care of drug addicts.
She is married with two children.
Dr. Stephen Feldman MB ChB DRCOG MRCGP Dip.
Sports Medicine Joined in 1991. A member of the board of the
South Leeds Primary Care Trust. He has an endoscopy
session at Seacroft Hospital and has established
and manages the Fountain Endoscopy Unit. He
also performs minor surgery, including joint
injections. Outside of Practice time he is
Medical Officer for the Football Association
and Huddersfield Town Football Club as well
as being a Senior Forensic Medical Examiner
and is Medical Director of The Living Care
Group. He is married and has two daughters.
Dr Sabodh Gogna Bsc MBBS MRCGP Joined in 1996. Graduated from the university
of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1990. Attended
the Dewsbury VTS scheme. Works on various
projects to enhance the care given to our
patients, including being the clinical lead
for Asthma and COPD. He has a keen interest
in Sailing, photography and hockey. He is
married with 3 children.
Dr. Suzie Henstock MBChB MRCGP. Joined in 2003.
Qualified from Leeds University 1998. Completed
her vocational training in the local area,
mainly in Dewsbury Hospital. Finished VTS in
2003 and started working as a full time salaried
doctor here at the Fountain Medical Centre.
Her clinical interests include contraceptive
health and Chronic Heart Disease. She lives
with her fiancée
near Wetherby.
Dr. Francis Perez-Carral LMS DFFP Joined the practice in April 2001. He trained
in Medical School in Cantabria, Spain and
his GP training took place in Leeds. His
main clinical interests are in ENT and minor
surgery and at present has a session in the
community ENT at Hunslet Health Centre. He
has completed a post graduate diploma in
ENT to become a secondary provider in the
community. His outside interests include
football and foreign travel. He has two daughters.
Dr. Alison Best B Med Sci BM BS MRCGP DFFP Joined in February
2000. She trained in Nottingham where she initially
worked as a salaried GP in a Young Peoples
Health Project and then as a partner in a General
Practice. She relocated to Leeds after getting
married. Her clinical interests are young peoples
health, mental health and women’s health.
She is an occasional contributor to Pulse
magazine. Outside interests include football,
music, contemporary literature and cooking.
She is married and has two children.
Dr A Simmons MBChB Bsc FRCP Accredited by the GMC as a specialist in Gastroenterology,
general medicine and Oncology, and has provided
endoscopic services since 1972. He was a Consultant
Physician at Chapel Allerton Hospital till
1980, then at St James' University Hospital
from 1980 till 1999.
