The
Fountain Medical Centre
In June 1994, we looked at the possibility of expanding our
then current site (Morley Health Centre) and decided that
this was not feasible, so our interest turned to a site on
the Fountain Street roundabout. This was purchased, and construction
of the new premises began in December 1995. Briefly the building
comprises:
Ground Floor
Pharmacy
Reception and waiting area including children’s play
area.
General Office
Doctors’ consulting rooms
Nurses’ consulting rooms
Treatment suite, minor surgery theatre and endoscopy, recovery
rooms and changing rooms.
As mentioned above this whole area is to be upgraded in 2006,
along with a programme of phased refurbishment of Consulting
Rooms and all Public areas over 2006/07.
First Floor
The Complementary Medicine Suite – includes physiotherapy,
chiropractic, podiatry, homeopathy, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy,
reflexology, Occupational Health and David Ormerod Hearing
Services.
Dental surgery
Nurse consulting rooms and waiting area
Staff common room
Second Floor
Doctors’ common room/Tutorial Room/Library
Seminar room
Practice meeting room
Kitchen
Business Manager’s Office
QOF Team Office
IT Manager’s Office
Attached staff offices (District Nurses and Health Visitors)
Third Floor
Additional storage space for paper records.
