Every year flu vaccination prevents illnesses, medical visits, hospitalisations, and deaths.

Flu vaccination is an important preventive tool for people with chronic health conditions flu vaccinations have been associated with lower rates of some cardiac events among people with heart disease.

There are a few several types of flu vaccine depending on your age and underlying health conditions.

Vaccines will start to arrive from late September and we are already planning our clinics. Please do not contact the surgery you will be invited in by the surgery either by text message, phone or letter.

You may also receive a text with a link to book your FLU vaccine.

Child Nasal Spray

Child flu vaccinations arrive in small weekly allocations. We offer clinics at various times to allow parents flexibility. Parents of eligible children will be contacted by the practice to book an appointment by text message, phone, or letter. Most children will have the Nasal spray version of the vaccine, so no needles for our youngest patients!

If a grandparent/carer or guardian is bringing your child, please send written permission from the parent when you attend.

The flu vaccine gives you protection for up to 6 months. If you have your vaccine in October, it should cover you for the winter months.
